Support Association

AJABONA is an association supporting the botanical gardens of Grand Nancy and Université de Lorraine.

The aim of the association is to:

• bring together people interested in the botanical gardens of Nancy and Université de Lorraine and determined to promote them by encouraging their actions and attendance – both at the Jean-Marie Pelt Botanical Garden and the Haut Chitelet High Altitude Garden;
• study, popularise and encourage every action in favour of the knowledge of nature and its preservation;
• assist in the dissemination of knowledge regarding plant heritage;
• support the actions of the botanical gardens of Grand Nancy and Université de Lorraine.

In exchange, the botanical gardens of Grand Nancy and Université de Lorraine offer members of the association:

• free admission to the gardens, greenhouses, exhibitions and events to the holders of the membership card;
• access to the library of the Jean-Marie Pelt Botanical Garden.

And AJABONA offers its members:

• the newsletter ‘la Feuille de l’Ajabona’ and the magazine ‘Botanique Lorraine’;
• free access to ‘Cours d’Été de jardinage et de Botanique’ (gardening and botany summer classes);
• a course on ‘Ikebana’ – a Japanese art of flower arrangement – managed by the association;
• discovery trips organised in coordination with other associations involved in the protection of natural habitats.
