Studying herbaria allows us to get to know/ understand the distribution of a plant/ a plant distribution at a given time, as well as its evolution over time, to record new botanical discoveries, or to identify plants.
In the Chitelet Garden, a herbarium of cultivated plants was made in the 1980s. It is kept along with some other 300,000 plates at the Jean-Marie Pelt Botanical Garden.
