Of the other French mountain regions, the flora of the Alpine chain are largely represented.  Here, a wide range of cushion-type species are grown (campion, saxifrage, thyme, sandwort, common soapwort, etc.). Visitors will delight in the flowering of the rhododendrons, alpine clematis, Flower of Jove with its whitish leaves (Lychnis flos-jovi) and the very rare alpine sea holly (Eryngium alpinum).
Some species are characteristic of other European mountain regions, such as the Caucasian lily with its large lemon-yellow flowers, the fragile Thermopsis with its lupin leaves originating from Siberia and the Carpathian harebell.
