In summer, 27 citrus fruit species including lemon trees, orange trees and mandarin trees adorn the paved square at the entrance to the garden and the path leading to the greenhouses. But during the winter months they are moved to an orangery at the entrance to the tropical greenhouses. In late summer and autumn, their blossom diffuses a heady scent that thrills the senses. The fruit is formed in winter. Apart from the well-known varieties, such as the famous bergamot tree, visitors can enjoy seeing the original fruit of the cumbava, kumquat and Buddha’s hand.
